We are  much looking forward to our next concert in St.George’s which will take place  on the evening of Friday 23rd August. It will be a very special one for us as we are hosting and singing with the Motettenchor choir from Stuttgart in Germany who are visiting Belfast  for the first time. Some of our choir members are travelling to Stuttgart to sing with the German choir, who are presenting  a similar concert in early June.

Both  concerts will feature a setting of the Mass ordinary in Latin  by the Argentine composer Martin Palmeri: ‘Misa a Buenos Aires’, better known as ‘Misatango’ because the music uses the style of the nuevo tango (“new tango”) which is a melding of traditional tango rhythms and jazz-inspired syncopation. It is scored for mezzo-soprano, mixed choir and an ensemble of bandoneon, piano and strings.
